The Silver Strand is a 1 mile long stretch of beach, in Oxnard, California, separating Channel Islands Harbor to the north from the Port of Hueneme. Both the harbor and the port limit access to the beach and its small community to only one road. The sparkling water and the beautiful California shoreline is such a wonderful vista. You could have to settle for a hotel a away from the beach if you want to spend the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up snoozing in your car. There are more pursuits here other than simply hanging out at the beach like fishing, swimming, hiking, boating, whitewater paddling, and golfing, so you won’t turn bored. If you're a camper you can raise that tent at one of the glorious campgrounds in close proximity. California is a nice location for beach people. This is such a beautiful piece of shoreline. Hueneme Canyon is a good site to take a look at close to Silver Strand Beach, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura here. The vistas at Channel Islands National Park will blow your mind, and don't forget to have a look at Point Hueneme while you're here. Beaches are tremendous; and Hollywood Beach near Silver Strand Beach is no exception, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Cozy Dell Trail. River Ridge Golf Course is a golf course in the vicinity of Silver Strand Beach, and a day at Ormond Beach is time well spent. Just can't get enough of Silver Strand Beach. At Port of Hueneme right next door to Silver Strand Beach there are some attention-grabbing things to see, and while you're here you can play some golf at Olivas Park Golf Course. While you're here at Silver Strand Beach you ought to pop by Hueneme Lagoon, and you can have a glorious hiking adventure along the Foothill Trail. Mandalay Beach Park is worth taking a look at if you're at Silver Strand Beach, and next to Silver Strand Beach you come across a golf course called Buenaventura Golf Course.
